Atomhawk Design Ltd is a leading conceptual design and digital art production company based in the North of England. We are a specialist in providing bespoke art productions in 2D, 3D, Adobe Flash and Video media, across all interactive industries including film, games and online.

The company is built entirely around our key goal which is to provide a world class creative production service, helping our customers to visualise their ideas and to present those ideas to the world with breathtaking style and quality.

Our team is made up of only the most talented artists and designers, all of whom are full time employees working out of our Gateshead studio. This means that unlike offshore "outsourcing" companies, we are a specialist creative service provider that is able to work with our clients in partnership and ensure the best possible results.


		Our very own Charlie Bowater has once more shared her skills and provided another tutorial to our friends at ImagineFX! 		It's that time of year again! Francesco Lorenzetti is one of our newest additions to our team and his name was picked out of the hat to paint the latest Atomhawk Design Christmas card on behalf of the Atomhawk Design Charity Initiative. This year Francesco has cited Greenpeace as his charity of choice, so on Francesco's behalf, we will be donating £500 to their cause. Click here for a closer look at Francesco's Christmas card! 		Recently Atomhawk expanded its ranks with four new recruits! As we move into 2012, Atomhawk is now even more primed to deliver quality artwork to both existing and new clients alike. Meet our new additions to our art team - Shaun Mooney - An industry-seasoned Concept Artist who joins us from Travellers Tales having worked on beloved franchises like Lego™ Batman™ and Lego™ Indiana Jones™. Tim Hill - Another Travellers Tales veteran, Tim has worked on many Lego™ franchise titles as well as a first-class degree holder in Games Design. Francesco Lorenzetti - A graduate of the world-renowed Gnoman School of Visual Effects, Francesco has a wealth of experience as a freelance illustrator. Sarah Morris - An eager Junior Artist who has much experience in the field of browser-based MMORPGs. You can find out more about them and our other team members on our About Us page.


		Atomhawk Director Cumron Ashtiani has written a new article for the August 2011 issue of Develop assessing the strengths and weaknesses of stylised graphics. You can click here to see the article. You can also check out the previous article Ron wrote here.


		To celebrate our 2nd birthday, we've decided to give you all a sneak peak at one of our new creations. This project is an in-house idea that we will be developing further over the coming months; for now it is just known under the codename of "Realm". It is a fantasy story about a little girl who embarks on an epic journey to save her village. On her travels she meets a host of elemental creatures, some friendly and some dangerous... but that's all we can say for now! Click on the images above to see some new artwork from Realm! We've also added some new desktops to our downloads section which feature our celebratory zombie cake and also some Realm artwork. Watch this space for future updates!


		Our best kept secret is finally announced! We are pleased to be able to disclose that we have been involved in the biggest web sensation of the year - Atomhawk Design has partnered with leading design agency, TH_NK, in the development of Pottermore™ for J.K. Rowling. You can watch J.K. Rowling's Announcement Trailer here and you can register your e-mail to express interest at the official Pottermore™ site! Our involvement has been significant as the art studio has been responsible for supplying all the illustrations, a handful of which has already been released to the press: - The Gateway - Hogwarts Express - The Chessboard Chamber - Christmas at Hogwarts Watch this space for more when the project goes live!


		Atomhawk Design has been shortlisted as a Finalist of the Develop Industry Excellence Awards 2011 under the Visual Outsourcer category! You can read more information about the awards here. 		We're celebrating the arrival of the new Mortal Kombat™ game by showing some of the released artwork that we helped produce for the title. It was fantastic to work with the extremely talented folk at NetherRealm Studios and wish them every success with the game. 		We are pleased to announce that our work has been featured on the cover for issue 92 of 360Gamer magazine featuring Xian Mei - one of the protagonists of the forthcoming zombie survival title Dead Island™. 		The latest issue of Imagine FX (issue 66/February 2011) not only features a cover painted by our very own Charlie Bowater, but also a tutorial which shows how she painted it and a two-page studio profile! You can purchase this issue online here.


		Happy New Year from Atomhawk Design! We've been busy updating our website with new artwork, new UI video content and new desktops in our downloads section. Keep an eye out for more updates in the future!


		We recently had an office competition to produce our charity Christmas card for this year and it was our own Steve Pick who came up with the undead goods. Thanks to him, we've donated to Shelter - the homeless charity. You can also check out a larger version of the card artwork here. Happy Christmas from all of us at Atomhawk Design!


		Atomhawk Design worked closely with Housemarque to revamp Dead Nation™'s in-game menu systems. The well-received twin-stick zombie shooter is currently available now to download from the PlayStation Network™.


		We've teamed up with 3dTotal to bring you The Art of Atomhawk Design Volume One! It's a 192 page showcase of some of the finest artwork that our studio has produced thus far. You can check out more (including a new showreel!) here! The book is scheduled for release for February 2011.


		Enslaved™ Odyssey Of The West™ is now available to buy on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Atomhawk Design worked closely with Ninja Theory in concepting and implementing the game's front end menu design. You can find out more about the game here.

		We are pleased to announce that Atomhawk Design is celebrating its first birthday! Atomhawk Director Cumron Ashtiani recently spoke to GameHorizon about the journey which has got us here - read the article here.


		We have made some great new hires this last couple of months, and our existing clients will have already witnessed their works. Stephane Stamboulis - Joins us as Senior Concept Artist and moved all the way over from Sweden to join us here in the sunny North East (he must be crazy). Steph has nearly 10 years experience in the comic book world, and has worked on several high profile series including the comics based on Konami's Silent Hill™ franchise. Amy Hill - Joins Atomhawk as Office Manager and Production Associate. Amy worked with us back at Midway, and will soon become a familiar face for our clients as she will be handling our Account Management and Office Organisation. Dan Gilmore - A super-talented Graduate Designer who is already impressing the team here, and keeping the old timers on their toes.


		We've licensed some of our artwork for the cover of The Ninth Avatar book from Trapdoor Books! This could be classed as Cover Porn by some!


		Atomhawk shows its commitment to the UK video games industry by becoming a member of TIGA. Our company is passionate about games and believes that TIGA is the best channel through which our voices can be heard.

		Atomhawk Design has big plans for 2010. We have moved to a new state of the art, bigger office in the Gateshead International Business Centre and we are currently recruiting artists to join our experienced team.

		We are very pleased to announce that we have moved into our new office in the centre of Gateshead. We are now based at No 6, Greenesfield Business Centre, Gateshead, NE8 1PQ.


		The mighty Atomhawk is now officially Atomhawk Design Ltd., from the ashes of Midway shall rise a creative powerhouse, making some of the best digital art and design work seen in ages!
